Meera J Pillai hails from Kerala, but has spent most of her life outside the state. She started her career with Deccan Chronicle, Chennai as their Chief sub editor and reporter, a role she handled for three years. Her tryst with Radio, lasted a year, as Head of Programing at Chennai Live. After four years in the media, she moved to MJ Enterprises, Kochi, a family owned HR and Facilities Management Company. Meera did her schooling in Kolkata and Chennai, and her graduation in Coimbatore, before completing her Post graduation in Mass Communication from the esteemed Manorama School of Journalism in Kottayam.
Her love for writing started from her school days when her English teacher introduced her to the classic writings of Jane Austin and mysteries of Nancy Drew. She loved stage from her younger days and often enjoyed taking part in debates and plays. For more than two years she was the Deputy Editor of Culturama magazine and lead the publishing department at Global Adjustments.
Today, she is the Vice President - Corporate Communications of Tavya Sports Leap, South India's leading sports infrastructure and development brand.
In between endless moments of anguished mothering of a defiant 8-year-old and managing her work, Meera has found the time to create another world of her own. Each night when silence finally descends on the house, she finds time to tell stories, one she honestly thought is her calling card.
